Spirit Hoop Cake for Actors Hoop Dance is an amazing movement form appealing to actors for many reasons. It's a fantastic opportunity to explore the spaces around you, to incorporate the hoop as a performance tool allowing the hoop to speak, as previously seen in the televised performance of Cost of Living (2003) by DV8 . Apart from the un-ending possibilities in which a hoop can be incorporated in a theatrical performance hoop dance strengthens the core muscles, rib cage flexibility, balance, energised and engaged breath and increases self esteem, all of which has links to the physical discipline an actor relies on. I'm excited to offer an amazing workshop geared towards actors who might find Hoop Dance as useful as I have!
So far I've worked with the following theatre groups:
Spirit Hoop Cake for Young People
I'm CRB checked and a member of Equity, I'm experienced in working with and performing for children and young people. I have a Basic First Aid for Appointed Person certificate also.

I performed the theatre piece and ran workshops for the year 1 students in Stantonbury Campus’s ‘Family of Schools’ and the feedback was very positive, read what teachers have said about my play:
“Just right for the children.”
“The children loved the story…it was well dramatised and the whole class were totally engaged with it.”
“It was very enjoyable, even children who often don’t want to participate in activities were keen to have a go and it raised their self-esteem.”
“The performance and workshop were excellent.”
“I thought Janine was wonderful and the workshop was meaningful.”
